Uruguay To Face Brazil in RWC 2019 Send-Off

Uruguay’s final match before departing for RWC 2019 will be against Brazil. The South American rivals will go head-to-head on Saturday September 07 at a yet to be confirmed venue.

September 07 is officially the cut-off date for all international competition prior to RWC 2019. The Japan-hosted tournament is to begin on Friday September 20 with the home side taking-on Russia in Tokyo.

Between now and then Uruguay has a busy period. The national ‘next of XV‘, the Uruguay XV is presently involved in the Sudamérica 6 Naciones A. It began this past Saturday with an away win over Chile. Remaining matches will be played against Brazil, and Colombia.

In June the test side will be the home side in the Nations Cup. Los Teros will play home tests in the competition against RWC 2019 competitors Namibia, and Russia as well as playing against the Argentina XV.

Also in June Uruguay will play host to Spain. Los Leones will play a three-match tour to play test matches against Chile, Brazil, and Uruguay. The match will be played in Montevideo on Saturday June 22.

Uruguay will begin their campaign on day 06 of the tournament. Los Teros will do so against Fiji in Kamaishi. From there the South Americans will travel south to Kumagaya to face Georgia; Australia in Oita; and Kumamoto to face Wales. The match against the Western British side will be on the final day of the group stage.
