The Seattle Seawolves are set to unleash Samu Manoa on Major League Rugby. With five games remaining in their regular season schedule, the defending champions have been boosted by the addition of the giant Eagles lock who arrived at training this week.
Manoa has not laced the boots up since departing Cardiff Blues in late December for personal reasons. He then sat out the entirety of the Americas Rugby Championship but the 34-year-old is ready to take the field again to kick-start preparations for the World Cup later this year.
It’s a frightening proposition for Seattle’s opponents, who will also have to contend with the imminent return of star flanker Vili Toluta’u from a broken ankle sustained against San Diego in early February. The Seawolves make the long trip east this weekend to play the Toronto Arrows, though it’s not yet clear if either will suit up for Sunday’s match.
