2019 Sudamérica 6 Naciones A Schedule

The 2019 Sudamérica 6 Naciones A takes place this month. The second edition of the South American Tier 1 competition will see three matches per country. As was the case in 2018 it is to be organized into either one or two home fixtures each.

The same six countries return from 2018 – Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, the Uruguay XV, and the Argentina XV. With Brazil having upset the Argentina XV to win the inaugural competition last year the May 25 match will give Os Tupis a chance to push for a repeat but this time on home soil.

Uruguay will warm-up for the Nations Cup by playing against Chile, Brazil, and Paraguay. It is to be the next phase in Uruguay’s RWC 2019 preparations though the matches will not be capped.

Colombia is to have the opportunity of playing against the Argentina XV for the first time. There is hype within the Colombian rugby community about the May 11 fixture while the game against Paraguay seven days later is another of note.

With events within South America seeing the creation of a regional professional league (Súper Liga Sudamericana (SLAR) the 2019 Sudamérica 6 Naciones A is to be of vital interest to all involved. The SLAR will begin in March 2020 with six teams, of which Club Olympia (Paraguay), Nacional (Uruguay), and Peñarol (Uruguay) are known at present.
