South Americans in MLR – Week 12 Preview

Week 12 of the Major League Rugby (MLR) season will be played this weekend. There is to be a split of two league matches on Saturday, and two on Sunday. The following preview notes the South American players who will be involved.

In New Orleans NOLA Gold play host to the Utah Warriors. The fixture will involve one player capped by each of Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay. Brazilian test fly half Josh Reeves will wear the 10 shirt for Utah; Uruguayan enforcer Ignacio Dotti will be start in the second-row for NOLA Gold; while Chilean Nikola Bursic will play flanker.

In Texas the Houston SaberCats will be at home against the Seattle Seawolves. The fixture marks the opening of AVEVA Stadium, the permanent new home of the SaberCats. Uruguayan supporters will be following the match closely as Mateo Sanguinetti starts at loose head prop, Diego Magno in the second-row, and Alejandro Nieto at N8. Playing at fly half for the Seattle Seawolves will be Ben Cima. Born in Argentina, Cima grew up in the USA.

On Sunday Toronto Arrows play host to the Austin Elite in Canada. The host team welcome back Leandro Leivas from injury. The Uruguayan will start for the Arrows on the left wing. The Austin Elite have not yet confirmed their team for the fixture.
