Justin Douglas has been named in Canada’s Men’s Sevens side for Hong Kong. Their star attacking player missed the North American leg of the HSBC Sevens Series and makes a timely return with Adam Zaruba and Pat Kay ruled out with injury.
Lucas Hammond and Cole Davis remain sidelined but there is so there is a recall for Andrew Coe, and 18-year-old David Richard is set to make his circuit debut. He takes the squad place of Josiah Morra.
Harry Jones is restored to the captaincy, taking over from Nathan Hirayama. Jones returned in Las Vegas after missing the opening four tournaments of the campaign.
Canada are currently in 12th overall after finishing 10th in Vancouver. They have been drawn in Pool B at Hong Kong along with France, Argentina, and Portugal.
The three-day event kicks off on April 5. All matches will be streamed live on the CBC Sports website.
