With most eyes fixated on the European Quarter Finals, the RFU Championship quietly moves into its last few games of the season. Just four more weeks, to be precise, until London Irish can again call themselves a Premiership team… that is unless Ealing can pull off a miracle.
Cornish Pirates will host the Exiles at the Mennaye tomorrow and they’ll have to front up in a big way if they’re going to help out the Trailfinders. Brett Beukeboom has captained the side in every game this season and continues at lock, while Javier Rojas is again at inside center.
A pair of North American internationals are in a familiar Bedford Blues lineup for their road game against Hartpury. Canada’s Justin Blanchet runs out on the blindside flank with the USA’s Will Hooley steering the ship at flyhalf.
There is no sign of Dino Waldren in the London Scottish team to play Doncaster. Only one Eagles forward will play, and that’s Knights lock Nick Civetta.
Ealing’s next test is a decent Nottingham side tomorrow featuring league-leading points scorer Shane O’Leary. The Trailfinders have named Ben Landry on the blindside with Andrew Durutalo awaiting his turn as an impact replacement.
