Jerónimo de la Fuente extends Jaguares contract

Jerónimo de la Fuente has extended his Jaguares contract. The captain of there Argentine Super Rugby franchise is now under contract until December 2020.

The 28-year-old took over the captaincy this year from Pablo Matera. The former captain will be departing Los Jaguares to play for Stade Français at the end of the 2020 Super Rugby season, joining Nicolás Sánchez a the Top 14 club.

Earlier this week two other Jaguares were confirmed as departing Los Jaguares. Martín Landajo and Santiago García Botta both signed to play in the English Premiership for the Harlequins. With de la Fuente remaining it is welcome news for Argentine rugby.

Not all senior players are departing however as de la Fuente follows Agustín Creevy, Tomás Cubelli, and Guido Petti in signing new contracts with the UAR. All played at RWC 2015 and are secured of their places again at RWC 2019 as are Matera and Sánchez.
