Braid repeats as DHL Impact Player in Vancouver

Connor Braid has done it again. For a second consecutive tournament the Canadian dynamo outstripped the field to win the DHL Impact Player of the Vancouver Sevens. The award is given at each stop of the HSBC Sevens Series to the player who scores the highest cumulative number of tackles, line breaks, offloads, and carries.

After his score of 47 topped the Las Vegas tournament, Braid achieved a 49 in Vancouver which put him four above France captain Jean-Pascal Barraque. Braid was the only Americas player to reach a score of 40 and appear on the leader board.

In doing so Braid also pushed his overall score to 226, which now stands 27 points above Samoa captain Alamanda Motuga and 30 beyond his previous closest competitor, New Zealand’s Sione Molia. The overall season award is given at the year-end World Rugby awards banquet.
