ARC Highlights – Uruguay vs Brazil

The 2019 ARC has gone down in history as the most successful for Uruguay. Los Teros claimed four wins from five matches to finish in second position, their best on record.

The competition consists of six countries with five of them fielding their test teams in name. Matches between two of these count towards rankings. Uruguay prepared with this in mind and came out with wins over Canada, Chile, the USA, and Brazil.

Victory over Brazil on Saturday was hard-fought and required a comeback after Os Tupis had held the lead at half time. A second half performance in which Uruguay scored four tries to one would be decisive.

Despite the loss Brazil should not feel disappointed. They demonstrated that their progression is as good as any team in the world since RWC 2015. Knowing this they will be able to continue plotting their path towards appearing at a RWC for the first time.
