MLR Highlights – New Orleans Gold vs Glendale Raptors

The Glendale Raptors traveled to New Orleans to face the Gold on Saturday in Week 2 of the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Glendale were arriving on the back of a tough loss to the Seattle Seawolves in the season opener and were without star halfback duo Shaun Davies and Will Magie.

NOLA had welcomed the Toronto Arrows to professional rugby and emerged victorious. Against the Raptors they would be without four international forwards on Americas Rugby Championship duty.

It was a high-scoring affair that saw William Waguespack and Caleb Meyer making their MLR debuts for the Gold. The Raptors welcomed the return of veteran Peter Dahl to the starting lineup and had one debutante of their own in replacement flanker Jason Damm. A full match report can be seen here.
