Rugby World Cup 2015 Semi Finalists Argentina are won of four teams short-listed for the prestigious Team of the Year award. The Daniel Hourcade Coached team joins Australia, Japan and New Zealand as the four finalists.
Argentina’s World Cup campaign and away win over South Africa during the Rugby Championship contributed to the nomination. Japan’s impressive three pool wins are primarily responsible for the Asian’s being nominated while Australia and New Zealand both contesting the World Cup Final explains their involvement.
It is the winner of the final who is widely expected to win the award. Having been top of the World Rugby World Rankings since winning the World Cup four years ago New Zealand has won the award in the years between World Cups.
