Santiago Cordero scored in a losing effort this past weekend. His try came in what was a nail-bitting 31-28 defeat against the Northampton Saints.
Despite the loss the Exeter Chiefs end 2018 in top spot of the English Premiership. At the half-way stage of the regular season Exeter have 47 competition points, one more than Saracens. Gloucester occupy third with 36 points.
Cordero has appeared in ten of the Chiefs’ eleven English Premiership matches for Exeter this season. His return has been four tries and one try assist. He has left plenty of defenders behind in establishing dominant attacking statistics. These include 695 meters made, 21 clean breaks, and 48 defenders beaten.
On form he is among the leading Argentine players in Europe today. His performances recently earned praise from Gonzalo Quesada, the Head Coach of Los Jaguares.
Americas Rugby News expects Cordero to be selected for RWC 2019. It would be his second RWC. He was the starting right winger in 2015 and that is his usual position for Exeter. He has. however, had one start at fullback and three on the left wing.
