Argentina Name Team for Semi Final

Los Pumas Head Coach Daniel Hourcade has made one change to Argentina’s starting lineup to face Australia in London on Sunday. The teams will meet in the second of two Semi Finals with the winner advancing to the World Cup Final against New Zealand or South Africa next Saturday also in London.

The one alteration sees Marcelo Bosch returning from suspension to start at outside center in place of Matías Moroni who drops out of the match-day 23. The team is therefore the strongest available with Mariano Galarza out through suspension and Manuel Montero and Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro injured.

Tetaz Chaparro’s rise came following the loss of Juan Figallo in the 2013 Rugby Championship. He went on to star for Argentina in wins over Australia, France, Georgia, Italy and South Africa. It was against Georgia that his World Cup campaign ended and now Figallo is back and will act as Argentina’s replacement tighthead prop for Ramiro Herrera.

The remaining replacements are equal to those whom faced Ireland in the Quarter Final. Figallo coming in for Juan Pablo Orlandi is the only alteration. With there being questions over Agustín Creevy’s fitness Lucas Noguera Paz is to act as emergency hooker should both Creevy and Julián Montoya require replacing.

In a minor surprise Martín Landajo is again preferred to Tomás Cubelli with the former having entered the World Cup as Cubelli’s deputy. The pairing as co-vice captains.
