Gary Gold has selected a virtually unchanged Eagles squad for the November internationals. Only two players are named in the 27-strong group that were not part of the June tests. Tighthead prop Dino Waldren returns from injury and Southland flanker Tony Lamborn is back after being unavailable for the Summer series.
Filling the flyhalf position in the absence of injured AJ MacGinty is Will Magie, who will have a familiar face in Glendale Raptors captain Shaun Davies as his halfback partner. Will Hooley will continue at fullback and Nate Augspurger is set to again cover wing as well as scrumhalf.
Five players will miss out on the match against the Māori in Chicago on November 3 as it sits outside the official World Rugby test window. Premiership trio Titi Lamositele, Joe Taufete’e, and Paul Lasike will join the team in Spain along with Cardiff Blues pair Samu Manoa and captain Blaine Scully.
Among the notable absentees are Western Force three-quarter Marcel Brache, Seattle Seawolves flanker Vili Toluta’u, and free agent prop Chris Baumann. All three could find themselves quickly back in contention with more players to be added to the squad ahead of the match at Soldier Field.
