Benjamín Urdapilleta magic completed a miracle comeback win today against Toulouse. The Argentine fly half brought Castres back from 22-3 down to a stunning 26-22 victory. Urdapilleta was at the helm, scoring 16 points.
Having missed his first shot at goal, Urdapilleta would make amends. His opening points came in there 36th minute with a long-range penalty. Either side of the strike Toulouse crossed for tries, with it they went into half time leading 15-3.
Sevens minutes into the second half and Toulouse scored again. The score was not only under the posts but Castres would also lose Julien Dumora to a yellow card.
The comeback began before Dumora returned. In the 55th minute Urdapilleta landed a sideline conversion. He added a 62nd minute penalty before converting Castres’ second try. Like the first it was scored by replacement Alex Tulou.
In the 71st minute Urdapilleta gave Castres the lead. It came from a well-struck drop-goal taken from 37 meters in front of the posts. Three minutes later saw the final score of the match. Urdapilleta landed a regulation penalty to go four points clear.
Fittingly the Argentine would have the final touch of the match. With the full-time siren blown, Urdapilleta booted the ball into the stands at Toulouse as Castres celebrated a famous victory.
