Canada adds Wales test for November tour

Canada’s Senior Women’s side have completed their itinerary for their November tour to the UK. A test match against Wales on Saturday, November 24, gives them four matches – including three tests – in a span of just ten days.

It’s a difficult ask for Sandro Fiorino and team. The 41-player extended squad named earlier this week will be reduced to just 30 for the trip. Just two days rest will separate the Wales and Scotland matches, suggesting that many of those that play against England ‘A’ in London will again feature in Glasgow.

Wales are an opponent fresh in the mind for Canada. The two sides met on two occasions at the 2017 World Cup. Canada won both but struggled in the pool stage, winning by just 15-0. A much more comfortable 52-0 win secured 5th place overall in the knock-out stage.

FIXTURES
Sun, Nov 18 – vs England – Castle Park, Doncaster
Wed, Nov 21 – vs England ‘A’ – tbc, London
Sat, Nov 24 – vs Wales – Cardiff Arms Park, Cardiff
Tue, Nov 27 – vs Scotland – Scotstoun Stadium, Glasgow
