Venezuela Ready for Sudamérica 4 Naciones ‘B’

Venezuela is ready for the Sudamérica 4 Naciones ‘B’. The rebranded competition is the new South American B Championship with Venezuela competing against Costa Rica, Peru and tournament hosts Guatemala. The tournament will be played from September 27 to October 07.

Venezuelan Head Coach Mario Urdaneta has confirmed a 25-man roster for the Sudamérica 4 Naciones B. Preparation begins today in Caracas with Venezuelan players joined by players who play their rugby in Argentina, Colombia, and Uruguay.

Arriving from Montevideo, Uruguay is PSG’s Luis Zabala. José Paz is flying in from Buenos Aires while Aleksei Pernía, Anthony Villegas, and Kelving Cordero join the roster from Colombia.

The tournament makes Venezuela’s first test match in 11 months. Their previous outing was a 53-15 defeat against Colombia in the 2017 South American B Championship. In their other match Venezuela won 33-21 against Peru.
