Americas Rankings – September 16 2018

The Americas Rankings have been updated for September 16 2018. They have been recalculated following Argentina’s 23-19 away win over Australia on Saturday. The fixture was the only match involving a test side from the Americas this past week.

Argentina’s win sees the South Americans gaining 2.00 points at the expense of Australia. In the Americas rankings this sees an extended lead over the USA. In the World Rankings it means Los Pumas are 0.08 points behind France, a side they will face in the November Internationals.

Next weekend will see no rugby played. The Rugby Championship will have a bye round before entering the final phase with Argentina and South Africa both at home for round five and six of the competition.

Costa Rica continues to be ranked on 32.16 points. This is the case despite the country having gained World Rugby membership in November 2017. Upon gaining World Rugby membership unions enter the World Rankings and do so with a 30.00 ranking.
