USA Look to the Future with Pichot

The USA is looking to the future with Agustín Pichot. The World Rugby vice-chairman and former Argentine captain has been nominated to the USA Rugby Board of Directors. USA Rugby goes on record as identifying this as a collaboration between World Rugby and USA Rugby for sustainable growth to cement the USA as a major player on the global rugby stage.

Pichot is already a very busy man. He is President of Rugby Americas, a role which sees him already directly involved with USA matters. For USA Rugby he will assist USA Rugby’s governance and commercial restructure and boost the process and speed of development of the sport in the country.

At present the USA has 33 million rugby fans, a highly substantial number. The board is seeking to build on this to make rugby much bigger. It has the ease of recent creations including the Americas Rugby Championship, and Major League Rugby.

The USA is looking to the future with Pichot on the back of the Rugby 7’s World Cup. Over 100,000 were in attendance for the event in San Francisco, California and new broadcasting records approaching nine million viewers on NBC were recorded.

Pichot told USA Rugby:
