The historic Americas Rugby Challenge began on Sunday. The opening match of the inaugural tournament saw Paraguay facing Mexico. The hotly contested match went the way of the South Americans though Mexico also played impressive rugby.
Both Paraguay and Mexico have little time to recover. Both have to pick up the pieces and return to the field on Wednesday. Paraguay will face Guyana while Mexico take-on Colombia. With Guyana having been well beaten by Colombia the expected outcome on day two is for Paraguay and Colombia to both win again.
Yet with none of the four teams in the Americas Rugby Challenge being interested in anything but playing to win, day two is certain to have further enthralling rugby.
Paraguay’s win over Mexico was the first of a 2-0 victory for Sudamérica Rugby over Rugby Americas North on Sunday.
