Chile win Bowl in San Francisco

Chile finished off their Rugby World Cup Sevens on a high by winning their third consecutive match and earning the Bowl with a 20-7 victory over Hong Kong. The result gives them a 17th overall finish with their only defeat the last-second loss to Ireland on opening day.

Pedro Verschae was the hero in the Bowl Final, scoring two tries in the first half with Benjamín de Vidts adding another to make it 15-0 at the break. Francisco Metuaze had the final say with Cado Lee responding for Hong Kong.

Uruguay’s day ended with a loss to Uganda, finishing their tournament in 20th place. Joaquín Alonso had two tries in defeat with singles to Juan Garese and Felipe Etcheverry.

Jamaica would finish at the bottom of the 24-team competition, but found some consolation at the end. After falling behind 33-7 to Zimbabwe, Ashley Smith would touch down twice in a span of two minutes to give his team the final say in the 33-21 defeat.
