Bosch Named in Top 14 Dream Team

Facundo Bosch has been Named in the Top 14 Dream Team by L’Equipe. In his debut season in the Top 14 the Argentine front-rower was named as the best hooker in France.

L’Equipe noted that Bosch had an 82% success rate with his line-out throws (88 from 107). He also impressed in terms of winning yards (469), turnovers (10), defenders beaten (29) and offloads (19). This was in addition to scoring five tries.

The 26-year-old left Los Jaguares to join Agen in mid 2017. His move came following him having been a Jaguar in the 2016 Super Rugby competition. He left in search of greater game time and has now given Daniel Hourcade and others plenty to think about.

Hourcade has captain Agustín Creevy and his understudy Julian Montoya as his two hookers. This has been the case since before RWC 2015. Should either be injured then there are no players from within Argentina to call-up. Indeed those in the Argentina XV have not played for Los Jaguares.

Bosch joins Tomás Baravalle (Benetton Treviso), and Santiago Socino (Newcastle Falcons) in hookers to have impressed this season in Europe. Bosch has two prior caps while Baravalle has one and Socino is uncapped. He converted to hooker from flanker in England.
