Mauricio Reggiardo has extended his coaching contract with Agen until 2021. The 48-year-old arrived at the club in 2016 from Albi and in having successfully transformed it into a Top 14 side he has secured a new deal.
The new three-year contract sees the former Pumas tighthead prop as Head Coach until 2021. The club won promotion from the Pro D2 under his direction in the 2016-2017 season.
In the 2017-2018 season Agen defied the odds to avoid relegation. Bottom place went to Brive while Oyonnax was relegated after losing a promotion vs relegation fixture against Grenoble. Agen finished above both Oyonnax and Brive as well as Stade Français.
As a player Reggiardo was in France from 1996-2006. He played for Castres for all but the final season when he played for Mazamet. He turned to coaching the same club from 2005-2007 before moving on to Castres in 2007. From there he was Argentina’s forwards coach from 2008-2013.
His son, Bernard Reggiardo was born in Castres and has played for Argentina’s U18’s and U20’s. He plays scrum-half.
