Trinidad & Tobago Sneak Past Bermuda

Trinidad & Tobago won a hotly-contested international this afternoon, sneaking past Bermuda by 27-24. The fixture was a part of the 2018 Rugby Americas North Championship.

Trinidad & Tobago ultimately won the match by a penalty kick. Their victory at the Port of Spain opened their 2018 Rugby Americas North Championship campaign. Bermuda debuted last weekend, falling to a 48-28 home defeat against the USA South Panthers.

In losing both matches Bermuda is now facing relegation. The bottom placed side from the Americas Rugby North Championship is to be relegated to the Americas Rugby North Cup. Jamaica will swap places thanks to having won promotion by beating Barbados in a home-and-away series.

Trinidad & Tobago are yet to face both the USA South Panthers and the Cayman Islands. Bermuda now need to turn around their fortunes by defeating the Cayman Islands. The task at hand is extremely challenging the the Cayman Islands having won by big scores in recent years.

The Rugby Americas North Championship series continues in June. The next weekend of matches will see two takes place. Bermuda travel again, this time to the Cayman Islands. Meanwhile in the Rugby Americas North Trophy division the Dominican Republic host Guadeloupe.
