Pro 14 – Semi Finals Preview

This weekend sees the Semi Finals taking place in the Pro 14. The final four see three of the competition’s five nations represented with the Celts Ireland, Scotland and Wales all having teams involved. Not involved are Italian or South African sides though teams from both countries had admirable seasons.

Friday’s Semi Final is a Scotland vs Wales match-up. Home advantage goes to the Glasgow Warriors who face the Scarlets, last seasons’s champions. The Scarlets won the 2017 Final last May with DTH van der Merwe winning the Pro 12 in Dublin, Ireland.

The Canadian winger also won the 2015 Pro 14 Final, this time doing so for Glasgow against Munster in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This weekend he will have the opportunity to extend his record as the top try scorer in Glasgow Warriors’ history. van der Merwe starts on the left wing with Tennessee’s Tommy Seymour starting on the right wing.

In the second Semi Final. The Irish provinces of Leinster and Munster clash on Saturday. They will do so at the RDS Arena in Dublin. The winning side will face the Scarlets or Glasgow Warriors at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on May 26.
