Week 2 ARP Wrapup

Amidst the opening weekend of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, the American Rugby Premiership (ARP) finished Week 2 of their season with one match on the schedule. The competition takes a one-week break before it kicks off in full force on October 3rd with a full slate of matches.

Week 2 Recap

Old Blue 48 Boston Irish Wolfhounds 21 – Old Blue (1-0) got their season off to a good start with a convincing victory over the Boston Irish Wolfhounds (0-1). The Wolfhounds held a 6-5 advantage midway through the first half, only to watch Old Blue rattled of 19 unanswered points on their way to a 24-9 halftime lead. Old Blue wing Rich Kirkland scored two tries in the winning effort. Thomas Walsh scored 11 pts for the Wolfhounds on three penalty goals and a conversion. The loss extended the Wolfhounds winless streak in ARP play to nine matches. For Old Blue, it was the start they wanted, but have much tougher games coming up fast.
