Moyano Ruled Out of Facing Hurricanes

Los Jaguares have been hit with an injury. Ramiro Moyano has been ruled out of facing the Hurricanes. The Tucumán winger suffered a torn hamstring this past Saturday playing against the Lions in Johannesburg.

Ramiro was able to train normal with the team on Tuesday morning in Buenos Aires. He, however, was forced out of the afternoon session after complaining of pain in his leg. It was subsequently revealed that he had a hamstring injury and will miss out on facing the Hurricanes.

The extent of the injury is minor but with Los Jaguares having five upcoming home matches no risks can be taken. Mario Ledesma cannot therefore select Moyano for the round three fixture at the Estadio Vélez Sarsfield.

Ledesma has not called-upon a replacement. Instead the vacant wing position will be taken by a player on the roster. The player likely to step in for Moyano is Sebastián Cancelliere. He travelled to South Africa but was not used against either the Stormers or Lions.

Moyano was a replacement against the Lions. The starting wingers were Emiliano Boffelli and Bautista Delguy. Potentially this formation could continue with Cancelliere occupying Moyano’s place among the replacements.

Alternatively Boffelli may be considered to move into the outside center position, taking over from Matías Orlando. That being the case then Cancelliere could start in the back-three together with Delguy and Joaquín Tuculet.

In addition to Cancelliere Ledesma’s roster had Joaquín Díaz Bonilla, and Juan Martín Hernández as backs who went to South Africa but did not play. The line-up to face the Hurricanes will be revealed on Wednesday.
