Week 25 of the Pro D2 is going to be a long one. Matches are to be played from Thursday through Sunday. The big day is Friday which has six of the eight matches. A number of Americas players will feature in the latest round of France’s second division. Below is a preview highlighting those involved.
Kicking-off week 25 is Mont de Marsan vs Montauban. The two former Top 14 clubs are to contest the one and only match on Thursday. Both teams have Argentine props involved. Carlos Muzzio starts for the home side and will pack down against Victor Damian Arias on one side of the scrum. On the bench for Mont de Marsan will be Jerónimo Negrotto.
On Friday Demian Panizzo earns another start for Carcassonne. He will play in the second-row for the relegation threatened side’s home match against Aurillac.
In Paris Massy host bottom of the table Narbonne. The visitors have named former Jaguar Segundo Tuculet to start on the left wing. Among the replacements will be David Tameliau. The USA Eagles forward has been a strong point in a weak team this season.
Grenoble are a club targeting a return to the Top 14. A home win over Dax this weekend will ensure the club remains well positioned to make the play-off’s. Looking to help Dax to an upset win is Martín Chiappessoni. He starts at flanker.
The Gonzalo Quesada coached Biarritz host Vannes. Extremely cold temperatures and snowy conditions are expected. Starting for Vannes will be Javier Lagioiosa in the second-row. Featuring as a replacement prop will be Eric Fry.
Week 25 concludes on Sunday with Béziers hosting Bayonne. Both clubs have players from the Americas who are expected to play. Line-ups will be announced on Saturday afternoon.
