Americas Rankings – February 11 2018

The Americas Rankings – February 11 2018 see history having been made. Results from this weekend’s fixtures in the Americas Rugby Championship (ARC) see Uruguay officially catching the USA to now have an identical ranking.

Uruguay completed a come-from-behind victory over Brazil on Friday. The 27-18 victory sees the teams trading 0.36 points in the rankings. As a result Brazil has fallen to now be ranked on 56.81 points. It is enough to remain above Chile.

Uruguay’s gain means Los Teros now have 66.92 rankings points. At the time it saw Uruguay climbing above the USA in the rankings. But following Saturday’s 29-10 win over Canada the USA obtained 0.05 rankings points. This sees the USA and Uruguay officially now tied for second in the Americas Rankings.

The Argentina XV completed a 57-12 win over Chile on Saturday. With the Argentine team not being Los Pumas rankings points were not on the line. As a result there is no alteration to either Argentina or Chile.

The Americas Rankings will be updated again next Sunday. Like this weekend they are to also take into account two of the three matches being played. Both matches with rankings on the line will be played in North America. The USA host Chile in California while Canada host Brazil in British Columbia.

Costa Rica continues to be ranked on 32.16 points. This is the case despite the country having gained World Rugby membership in November 2017. Upon gaining World Rugby membership unions enter the World Rankings and do so with a 30.00 ranking.
