Uruguay vs Canada RWC Qualifier – Match Highlights

History was made on Saturday afternoon in Montevideo, Uruguay. The home team defeated Canada to send the North Americans into Rugby World Cup repechage qualifiers for the first time in history.

Uruguay’s come-from-behind victory saw the South Americans winning the match 32-31. On aggregate Los Teros won the series 70-60. It sees Uruguay sealing the last spot in Pool D, qualifying for Rugby World Cup 2019 as Americas 2.

The result was also noteworthy for it bringing Uruguay to an unthinkable three match winning streak over Canada. The teams will meet next in the 2019 Americas Rugby Championship.

In Montevideo Uruguay and Canada both played impressive rugby. The home side had to complete a remarkable comeback from a slow start and, ultimately they were able to complete one of Uruguay’s greatest wins in history.
