Guinness Pro 14 – Round 13 Preview

It’s another dreadful week of the Guinness Pro 14 as far as Americas fans are concerned. A paltry three players from this side of the Atlantic will take part. It’s not without irony that the professional division eyeing expansion to the USA is the one with the least amount of American players.

Greg Peterson will be flying the stars and stripes as the USA’s representative for Glasgow Warriors when they take on Zebre. It’s his first start of the season and just his third appearance all told after struggling with injury earlier. The Italian club will continue with Eduardo Bello at tighthead prop, another Argentine on hiatus from national consideration.

The only other Americas player on duty is Canadian winger Jeff Hassler, who continues to shine in a woeful Ospreys team who have now fallen behind Zebre in the standings. Another Welsh derby match against Cardiff Blues is on the cards this week, a team that is already looking forward to next year with a new coach set to come in and a number of injuries to key players ruining their chances this season.
