Greg Peters Officially Presented as UAR General Manager

Greg Peters was officially presented as UAR General Manager at the Unión Argentina de Rugby (Argentine Rugby Union – UAR) headquarters in Buenos Aires this afternoon. Accompanied by UAR President Carlos Araujo and Secretary Fernando Rizzi Peters joined the senior management team.

The conference opened with Araujo welcoming Greg Peters abroad. “Within the plan to put into practice the slogan of ‘more and better rugby’ the UAR announced the contracting of Greg Peters and, today is a great day for us with Los Pumas traveling to the World Cup and for the profesionalism of the UAR”.

Fernando Rizzi, meanwhile, said that “it is important to note that we are now moving forward and taking a new step in the structure that the UAR requires for the development of professional rugby through the inclusion of a team in the Super Rugby based in Argentina from 2016. The union will not stop attending to, nor neglect, amateur rugby which is very important and is the base of the pyramid and support of our sport. We have completed the incorporation of an experienced General Manager who is internationally renowned, who will lead the whole structure of professional rugby always under the guidance of the Board”.

Greg Peters then took the floor, and did so in Spanish: “I am very proud to join the Argentina Rugby Union. It is my work to honor Argentine rugby which is growing and achieving all of the planned targets. This is a very exciting opportunity for both my career and my family, who accompany me in this new adventure. We are all enjoying our life in this country. What the future entails for Argentine rugby is fantastic”.
