The most famous collegiate rugby match in the world will feature two players of North American interest. USA u20 and Collegiate All-American standout Conor Kearns will captain Oxford University when they play Cambridge in the 2017 Varsity Match at Twickenham on Thursday. Lining up outside him will be Canadian international Dan Moor, who starts at outside center having won all 14 of his test caps on the wing. It’s the second ‘blue’ for Kearns and the first for Moor.
Also featuring for Oxford are a handful of players with professional experience. Former Italy u21 cap Roberto Talotti stards in the back row along with Premiership and England Saxons veteran Andy Saull. England Sevens international Sam Edgerley will start at fullback and current Newcastle Falcons midfielder and former Ohio Aviators standout Dom Waldouck is named on the bench.
Cambridge University will be led by Charlie Amesbury, one of two England Sevens internationals in the side along with former national skipper and current TV commentator Ollie Phillips. Scotland u20 caps Buchan Richardson and Archie Russell are named in the run-on side, as is former Bristol and Stormers flanker Nick Koster who is named at lock.
The match kicks off at 3pm local, 10am Eastern and will be broadcast by the BBC.
