Canada has started their Dubai Sevens tournament in the best possible way, going undefeated in their three pool matches as they topped Pool C. They defeated Spain, Ireland, and Fiji and conceded only two tries, both to Fiji. Canada will now play France in the fourth Cup Quarter Final on Day Two.
The USA had a more challenging Day One as they found themselves drawn in the highly competitive Pool A. After a narrow loss to France they rebounded to defeated South Africa but then fell victim to a dominant New Zealand side. They will rematch the 2016-17 series champions in the opening Quarter Final on Day Two.
In Pool B it was Australia who proved the top team. The Olympic champions cruised past Japan, England, and Russia to earn their spot in the Quarter Finals, where they will take on England for a second time.
All matches will be streamed live by World Rugby.
Canadian viewers can also watch on the CBC Sports website.
