Bosch Scores for Agen

Argentine hooker Facundo Bosch scored for Agen on Saturday. The two-time capped Puma went over for his second try of the season. His first came in round away against Montpellier. That was his Top 14 debut.

Bosch’s try against Pau was a gift. The hooker was in the right place at the right time to collect a pass from George Tilsey and dive over. Tilsey did very well to attack two Pau defenders to put Bosch over to score untouched.

On Saturday Agen were at home against Pau. The fifth round match was highly competitive but it was the visiting side that came away with the win. Pau’s 20-14 win at Agen means the club moves into 9th position in the Top 14. Agen occupy 12th with 6 competition points. The club is ahead of Stade Français and Brive.

Bosch arrived at Agen earlier this year. In signing for the club he was immediately released from Los Jaguares which saw him miss the entire 2017 Super Rugby campaign. He moved to France in search of more opportunities as Agustín Creevy and Julián Montoya dominated selections. To cover for the loss Los Jaguares converted Roberto Tejerizo from Loose Head prop to hooker.

Bosch’s departure is yet to trouble Argentina at international level. In the event that either Creevy or Montoya were to be injured then Los Pumas would be in an emergency. Officially the country’s depth in the position is playing abroad. In addition to Bosch Santiago Socino is developing into a quality hooker at the Newcastle Falcons. Meanwhile Santiago Iglesias Valdez recently joined Béziers, further denting the hooker stocks.
