Strikers sign Fiji 7s rep Josua Vici

The Houston Strikers have added a second Fijian to their growing roster for the 2018 Major League Rugby season. Joining Olympic captain Osea Kolinisau in Texas is Josua Vici. The 23-year-old speedster has represented Fiji in multiple tournaments including four stops on the HSBC Sevens Series since making his debut on the North American leg of the 2015-16 circuit. He was also a guest player for the Bordeaux Bègles club at the prestigious Hong Kong 10s tournament this past April.

Vici brings Houston’s confirmed roster to 28 players with more expected to be revealed in the coming days. While currently working with Rugby Relief to aid with community recovery from the extensive damaged caused by Hurricane Harvey, the Strikers are also welcoming new signings for orientation week with baseline health and fitness testing a significant component. The inaugural MLR season is not expected to begin until April, though friendlies are expected to begin early in the New Year.
