Agustín Pichot, for Pumas captain, is among eight judges appointed for the 2017 World Rugby awards. This year’s ceremony will take place in Monaco.
Included on the panel are leading players and coaches including World Rugby Hall of Fame inductees and former World Rugby player, coach and team of the year winners. The panel members have 771 caps between them.
The eight panel members are: Clive Woodward (England), Fabien Galthie (France), John Smit (South Africa), George Gregan (Australia), Maggie Alphonsi (England), Brian O’Driscoll (Ireland), Richie McCaw (New Zealand) and Agustín Pichot (Argentina).
The first edition of her World Rugby awards ceremony took place in 2001. Last year’s major winner was New Zealand. The All Blacks was Team of the Year, Beauden Barrett won Men’s Player of the Year, Steve Hansen won Coach of the Year and won Sarah Hunter Women’s Player of the Year.
