Senatore Out, Tetaz Chaparro in Doubt for Salta

Leoanrdo Senatore is out and Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro is in doubt for this coming Saturday’s match in Salta. Argentina host South Africa in a round two Rugby Championship in Northern Argentina. Head Coach Daniel Hourcade will require a different player to start at No 8 and potentially also at Loose Head prop.

Senatore started at No 8 yesterday. Argentina played away to South Africa in Port Elizabeth, losing 37-15. The heavy defeat was not the start that Daniel Hourcade’s side was looking for. The early loss of Senatore meant that replacement back-rower Javier Ortega Desio entered the match in the opening 15 minutes.

The Rosario No 8 suffered an injury to his left knee. Following analysis from team medic Dr. Guillermo Botto, Senatore has officially been ruled out of playing in Salta. He requires a three week recovery. This means a potential inclusion for either Juan Manuel Leguizamón or Benjamín Macome, the two other specialist No 8’s on Hourcade’s roster.

Also leaving hurt in Port Elizabeth was Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro. The La Plata front-rower started at Loose Head prop, lasting until the final quarter. He was forced off after having his head on the wrong side of a tackle on Raymond Rhule. This saw him assessed for concussion and Lucas Noguera Paz replacing him.

Despite passing the confusion exam, Tetaz Chaparro did not return to play. This saw Noguera Paz play out the remainder of the match. Dr. Botto has determined that Tetaz Chaprro will now undergo tests upon return to Buenos Aires. The results will determine his availability, or not, to play in Salta.
