Uruguay is the 2015 South American Under 19 Champion. Los Teritos were crowned the winners of this year’s four nations competition by defeating all of Brazil, Chile and Paraguay. Today’s 48-17 win over Chile saw Los Cóndores wrapping up an impressive campaign which featured three big wins.
Played at the Estadio Héroes de Curupayty at the headquarter of the Unión de Rugby del Paraguay (Paraguayan Rugby Union – URP) in Asunción, Los Teritos gave the senior men’s side room to feel they can qualify for future Rugby World Cups.
Los Teros fly half Felipe Etcheverry was elected player of the tournament. Both Uruguay and Chile are set to be involved in the new Americas Six Nations which is proposed to begin in February 2016. Also involved will be Argentina, Canada, the USA and Brazil, who finished third in Asunción earlier today.
