Garber signing confirmed by Strikers

The Houston Strikers have confirmed the signing of USA Selects flanker Cecil Garber for the 2018 Major League Rugby season. Joining from the Seattle Saracens club by way of the Northeast Bulldogs 7s side, the 25-year-old is the 19th player to put pen to paper for the Southeast Texas franchise.

Garber enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2016, playing a starring role for the San Diego Breakers in PRO Rugby. His all-action displays earned him selection the USA Select XV team for the 2016 Americas Pacific Challenge in October. The Virginia Beach native returned to Seattle to play in the 2016-17 CDI Premier League season that saw the Saracens reach the semi-finals.

Joining Garber in loose forward contention for the Strikers are Eagles XVs caps Matt Trouville and Kyle Sumsion, and Eagles 7s rep Pago Haini. An updated Strikers roster list can be seen here.
