Pumitas Blown Away by South Africa

Los Pumitas were blown away by South Africa, losing 72-14 this morning in Tbilisi. The Baby Boks put Los Pumitas to the sword, punishing their mistakes to humiliate their South Atlantic rivals.

The result sees Los Pumitas’ dream of returning to the Semi Finals obliterated. The South Americans will instead turn their attention to finishing as high as possible.

Baby Boks hooker Johan Grobbelaar demonstrated his class. Early tries from the potential future Springbok handed South Africa a 12-0 lead.

Los Pumitas looked to fight back. Excellent work from Matías Sauze set-up Félix Luna for Argentina’s opening try. There was little room for celebrations though as South Africa responded through Gianni Lombard.

Captain Tomás Malanos saw Los Pumitas score for the second time. His try though would ultimately be the final points scored by the South Americans. Both Damian Willemse and Yaw Penxe went over in response, ensuring that South Africa led 31-14 at half time.

In the second half it was one-way traffic. Los Pumitas failed to score further points. South African simple blew them away. Tries came from Juarno Augustus, Gianni Lombard, Embrose Papier, Manie Libbok and Francois de Villiers.
