The second round of the South American ‘A’ Championship will be played on Saturday. Chile will play host to Paraguay and Uruguay will receive Brazil.
The fixtures double as Rugby World Cup 2019 qualifiers. The winner will advance to face the runner-up of next month’s Canada vs the USA home-and-away series. This team will officially be Americas 2 and will compete in Pool D in Japan 2019.
For round 2 Sudamérica Rugby has appointed vastly experienced officials. Taking charge at the Estadio Charrúa in Montevideo will be Juan Sylvestre (pictured). He will be assisted by fellow Argentine officials Federico Japas and Nahuel Jauri Rivero.
At the Estadio Municipal de La Pintana in Santiago Brazil’s Henrique Platais will take charge of Chile vs Paraguay. Argentine officials Sebastián Gijón and Juan Manuel Martínez will be his assistants.
