Ireland has named a 31-man roster for upcoming international activity. The Irish are to play three June Internationals, taking on the USA and Japan. The squad named for the test matches includes new blood with eight uncapped players.
Joe Schmidt is to take the following uncapped players on tour: John Cooney, Dave Heffernan, Rory O’Loughlin, Andrew Porter, James Ryan, Rory Scannell, Jacob Stockdale and Kieran Treadwell.
Schmidt is without eleven players who have been selected by Warren Gatland to play for the British & Irish Lions in New Zealand. Additional players could yet be called-up if injuries require it.
Ireland’s opening match will be on June 10 against the USA. The match will take place at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey. From there Ireland will take on Rugby World Cup 2019 Pool A rivals Japan in Shizuoka on June 17 and in Tokyo on June 24.
