Turks and Caicos Islands Play host to the Dominican Republic

Test match rugby resumes this coming Saturday in the Americas. The Turks and Caicos Islands play host to the neighboring Dominican Republic. The fixture is the opening round match of Rugby Americas North competition for 2017.

Rugby Americas North is divided into two zones – north and south. The two geographical zones are subsequently divided into the Cup and Championship divisions. This is the governing body’s means of having relative competitiveness.

This year’s North Zone Cup will involve the Dominican Republic, Turks and Caicos Islands, the Bahamas and possibly Jamaica. The involvement of Jamaica is yet to be confirmed.

The North Zone Championship will see Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Mexico and USA South competing. It is to get underway on May 13 with Mexico traveling to face Bermuda.

The South is to also have Cup and Championship divisions. It is set to get underway on May 27. Participants are to include Barbados, Curaçao (to be confirmed), Guyana, Martinique (to be confirmed) and Trinidad & Tobago. The May 27 fixture is to be in Trinidad & Tobago.
