Taufete’e Extends Contract with Worcester Warriors

USA hooker Joe Taufete’e has extended his contract with the Worcester Warriors. The Aviva Premiership club has been highly pleased with the performances of the Californian since adding him as a medical joker in December. He has since made five appearances, scoring his first try for the club against the Harlequins in January. While the length of his new deal has not been made public, it is thought to be a two-year contract taking him through to the 2019 World Cup.

Taufete’e started playing rugby in 2011, doing so after having been an American Football player. He played for the prestigious Belmont Shore club before spending time in New Zealand at the Otorohanga RFC. His professional career began with the San Diego Breakers in the 2016 PRO Rugby season. Aged 24, Taufete’s currently has 9 caps for the Eagles. He made his debut against South Africa during RWC 2015 from the bench. His most recent test was against Tonga last November where he started at loosehead prop.
