The Uruguay test team, Los Teros are to play one final match in the country before departing for the Rugby World Cup. The fixture is to take place at Montevideo’s Estadio Charrúa on Saturday August 01.
With the match falling a month and a half before Uruguay’s opening World Cup fixture, the South Americans are to say goodbye to their faithful supporters and do so against their powerful neighbors. The Pablo Lemoine coached team is to depart on an international tour en route to the U.K.
Uruguay’s road to the Rugby World Cup started against Brazil and Chile. In winning both Los Teros advanced to face the USA home and away followed by Hong Kong and lastly Russia in repechage. The final assignment was a home test with a capacity crowd on hand at the Estadio Charrúa.
It is for this reason that the Unión de Rugby del Uruguay (Uruguayan Rugby Union – URU) is offering very reasonable prices in all seating categories so that, once again, the rugby family can easily gather and attend the match.
Tickets in the Bolivia stand will cost $100 Uruguayan pesos for men and $50 Uruguayan pesos for women. Remaining seats are to be on general sale for $50 Uruguayan pesos.
Shortly after the farewell, Los Teros will depart for Japan where a prepared Teros squad will play two test matches. Uruguay is also to play against a Basque selection before arriving in Wales to face the home side in Cardiff on September 20. Uruguay’s subsequent World Cup pool matches will be in England.
