California Cup Round 2 Results

The results for Round 2 of the California Cup are in along with the first upset of the abbreviated season. Two tries from Greg Daniels and 11 points from the boot of new points leader Andy Jackson propelled Belmont Shore to a surprise win over heavily favored OMBAC in Long Beach. The win shoots Shore up into third spot while OMBAC drop from the top all the way to fourth.

Golden Gate have claimed the hot seat with a comfortable win over Olympic on Treasure Island. Soggy conditions threatened to bring the game to a standstill but the home side still managed four tries with Volney Rouse a perfect 4-for-4 on conversions.

Tied on points with SFGG are Life West, who rattled off a second consecutive win with a last-minute try denying Old Aztecs by only two points. The addition of three PRO Rugby regulars played a major role with the trio accounting for all four Life West tries.
