Americas Rankings – October 07 2016

There have been changes to the Americas Rankings following round two of the South American B Championship. The updated Americas Rankings – October 07 2016 see Colombia rising and Peru falling.

Colombia’s 41-14 win over hosts Peru lifts Los Tucanes from 46.51 to 47.09 rankings points. With it Colombia extends its lead over Mexico and also cuts the gap between itself and Paraguay.

Defeat for Los Tumis sends the Peruvians down from 37.41 to 36.82 points. It means Peru has fallen below Barbados to now be ranked 17th in the Americas. Points can be regained by defeating Ecuador on Saturday.

Despite having won by a big margin Venezuela was unable to improve on its ranking of 41.86. Las Orquídeas’ remain 13th in the Americas. More importantly the Venezuelans World Cup dream is still alive. They face Colombia on Saturday with the winner securing a repechage spot against Mexico.
