Five Americas Officials Named on World Rugby 7s Panel

World Rugby has named referees from Argentina, Canada and the USA for 2016-2017 international 7s competition.

Argentine officials Damián Schneider (pictured) and Pali De Luca will officiate in the men’s competition. They will be joined by Canadian Chris Assmus and Mike O’Brien of the USA. A second Canadian, Rose LaBrèche has been named on the women’s panel.

Following the completion of the road to Rio 2016 World Rugby’s priority is now the 2018 Rugby Sevens World Cup in San Francisco. This has seen the changing of a number of officials to adequately prepare.

In total 60 referees were nominated. They were both men and women and represent 29 unions. The final list is 21 men and 12 women.
