Pumitas and Teritos named for u19 Match

Argentina and Uruguay have named their teams to participate in a u19 Sudamérica Rugby Cup match at Charrúa Stadium in Montevideo on Wednesday. Both sides have included several players who took part in the World Rugby u20 Championship and Trophy tournaments earlier in the year.

Los Teritos have received a major boost to the side with the inclusion of Oyonnax Academy lock Manuel Leindekar. The towering lineout specialist missed out on the u20 Trophy tournament with injury. Promising hooker Yamandú Arburúas is also included as are flanker Federico Bruno and 18-year-old no8 Santiago Civetta, the latter of whom traveled to Zimbabwe despite being two years under the age limit.

The side is captained by midfielder Agustín Della Corte, first choice during the u20 tournament and considered a certainty for future international honors. Star winger Martín Fitipaldo is also one to watch having scored four tries in three matches at the World Rugby tournament in April.

Argentina will be led out by flying winger Tomás Malanos, one of eight members of the Pumitas team that defeated South Africa and finished third at the u20 Championship tournament in England. Pumas 7s international Bautista Delguy, who also appeared for the Argentina XV in the Americas Rugby Championship, is a danger man at fullback. The midfield boasts the creative talents of Teo Castiglioni.

Mobile prop Santiago Pulella head up a forward pack that contains a plus-sized second row pairing of Franco Molina and Nahuel Milán. Molina was one of the standout forwards at the tournament in June and also made his Argentina XV debut in the ARC. Loose forwards Bautista Stávile and Facundo Domínguez both traveled to England, while Federico Lavanini, 18-year-old brother of Pumas lock Tomás, awaits to throw his 127kg frame around as a reserve lock.

Kickoff is set for 1:00pm Montevideo time.
